STOIC – a voice for older people in southern Test Valley.

Are you over 50 and living in Southern Test Valley? Would you like the chance to influence your future and have your say? Then STOIC – ‘Southern Test Older Independent Campaigners’ is the avenue for you to get involved and advance the cause of all older people.
STOIC aims to promote the interests of older residents in the southern parishes of the Test Valley Borough Council area. This is being achieved by consulting with older people on issues relevant to them and then bringing any areas of concern or unmet need to the attention of statutory authorities and the general public alike for action.

STOIC is an independent organisation run by older people for older people, open to anyone 55 years or over or indeed any organisation who is interested in furthering the cause of older people. At each meeting there will be a main topic for discussion, so far, public and community transport, healthcare and the rising cost of heating and how this can be addressed, have been covered. Topics planned for future meetings include community care, housing, benefits, safety/security and practical advice on making the most of your life.

Tell us about the things that are important to you. Your views and opinions on local services and day-to-day issues are very important to us so do come along to the meetings. Everyone is very welcome, just turn up!

Meetings are held on the fourth Friday of alternate months at the Age Concern Hall, Linden Road, Romsey from 2.05pm to 4.00pm.
