Romsey Quilters was founded in 1983, just at the time when patchwork and quilting were enjoying a renaissance throughout the British Isles, although we were too busy to realise this at the time.
Romsey Quilters have staged three highly acclaimed exhibitions in ROMSEY ABBEY, and these exhibitions have made an important contribution to ROMSEY ARTS FESTIVALS.
Some of our high-flying members have won National and International awards, and other work has been featured on television as well as in books and magazines.
It is difficult to remember how many quilts have been made for raffles, or how many thousands of pounds have been raised for charity. We are truly proud of our achievements throughout the past thirteen years. Success is not measured for us, though, in the amounts donated to charity, but in the strides we have taken in expressing ourselves through our patchwork and quilting.
