Our group known as Romsey Ramblers has been operating for more than 26 years and we now offer a comprehensive programme of more than 120 walks each year and with a social programme including quiz evenings, bowling and an annual barbeque. |
| We offer walks, normally between 4 and 10 miles in length in the area around Romsey and sometimes down into Dorset, at the weekend and on either Wednesday or Thursday each week. We often have a pub stop for lunch but sometimes there is a picnic. We also have a short Saturday walks which are particularly designed for new walkers. Many members meet in Romsey and operate a car share scheme to reach the start of the walk thus enabling members not having the use of a car to enjoy walking. Non members are also welcome on our walks.

Stepping Out in Yorkshire
A group of 29 Romsey Ramblers travelled to Yorkshire for a week's walking holiday. They stayed in self-catering accommodation just outside Pickering in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Some members took their own food whilst those with lesser culinary skills enjoyed the delights of the local hostelries
The group enjoyed some lovely walks visiting the Hole of Horcum, Riveaulx Abbey, Grosmont and Robin Hood Bay.
The leaders organised walks ranging from 4 to 10 miles catering for all abilities and including some very steep hills! Some of the group took the train from Pickering to Goathland and walked in "Heartbeat" country.
The week ended with a very enjoyable meal at a local hostelry
